Even thought you require inventory control, process automation, temperature monitoring, scheduling systems, accounting systems, and resource planning systems, the traditional server setup with an IT closet just doesn't work.

Some of the specific issues we've seen include...

No "Server" Rooms- We've seen many clients housing traditional tower type servers in closets, managers offices, and even under kitchen prep tables. These areas are just not conducive to servers with fans, mechanical spinning hard drives, and tons of exposed data ports. Plus, cleaning these systems is impossible, since anything with a fan is going to inhale grease, food particles, and moisture.

IT Security is an issue- Food service staff can be seasonal, often rotating, shift work individuals that are minimally vetted from a security standpoint. Having these staff members with virtually unfettered access to the server system is a big problem.

Internet Access isn't always reliable- One solution many business take is to move their entire computing operation to the cloud. The cloud is great, except when you can't connect to it. If your order system is down, you can't process payments, and the schedule is offline, your business is at a standstill.

Aertight Systems, Inc. has features in its Aertight™ Server Platform that help alleviate these problems.

Our platform is wall mounted, fanless, completely enclosed, wide temperature range, virtually silent, and has no moving parts. The system is easy to clean, with a simple water-resistant exterior and also available in a stainless steel model

The system is completely enclosed in a 16 gauge steel enclosure, with no externally exposed data ports, and secured with a combination lock. The entire system is encrypted, by default, with a TPM 2.0 hardware encryption module, so if the system is stolen, no data can be accessed anyway. (Aertight can provide a "cold storage" backup TPM key and NBD replacement parts in case of theft, as an optional service)

Our system has very high performance server specs. Older, physical servers can be converted to virtual machines, then run reliably on the Aertight Server Platform, or, our platform can be configured as a "store and forward" type of system, which runs reliably when "islanded" but "stores and forwards data" once network access is reestablished (please note this isn't a direct function of the platform, but a feature that is now feasible by configured applications on the Aertight Server Platform.

Our experience as an IT Solutions with 15 years of experience led us to the development of the Aertight™ Server Platform. Our hope is that the system will lower your IT service costs, and drastically increase reliability for your business.

0
Thu, 31 Mar 2016 11:08:46 +0000Aertight114 at https://aertight.com
